Election Day is nearing and many races around the country are heating up. In Pennsylvania, a recent USA Today Network-Suffolk University poll found that John Fetterman has taken a nine-point lead against celebrity physician Dr. Mehmet Oz in their battle for an open U.S. Senate seat. Fetterman has earned the support of 46% of likely voters while Oz sits a bit further behind with 37% of likely voters leaning his way. With that said, 13% of voters in The Keystone State still remain undecided.
If Fetterman were to emerge victoriously, it would be a major swing of momentum for the Democratic Party. Flipping a seat previously held by retiring Senator Pat Toomey would give the Democratic Party the majority in the Senate.
Elsewhere, things are a bit tighter. Democratic gubernatorial nominee Josh Shapiro only sits four points ahead of his Republica challenger Doug Mastriano. The slim margin coupled with 13% of undecided voters puts his lead in the poll’s margin for error.
Election Day is set for November 8, 2022. For more information regarding the voter registration process in Pennsylvania, please visit this website.
