The sun may be inching out of hibernation as the temperature rises, but SadBoy season isn’t over just yet. Reggie Becton has set a March 29th release date for his latest project, SadBoy Volume II. The Maryland native leads the release of his upcoming project with a quarter of singles and collaborations, including “Bad M’fkr,” “Just Friends,” “E.T.A” and “Say Less” with Dylan Reese. Building upon the success of the first volume, each release has been rooted in elements of both traditional R&B and today’s sound with rich storytelling and dynamic vocal performances. Along the way, Reggie Becton’s star has risen with co-signs from Timbaland, Coco Jones and others.
Not long ago, Reggie Becton chopped it up with the good folks at You Know I Got Soul and teased the project. While he didn’t offer too much regarding the direction of the second volume, he did indicate that some of the songs were recorded along with the first collection of tracks.
“There is a volume two coming,” he said.
“We created some of the songs during the SadBoy sessions. I’m excited to like…go back in and listen to them and see what we structure the rest as.”
Cowboy Carter will rightfully dominate the timeline on March 29th, but SadBoy Volume II will do more than earn its fair share of commentary and praise when it arrives next Friday. In the meantime, check out the emerging artist’s latest release — “E.T.A” below.
