A global pandemic, a major change at TDE and five years later, the Chasing Summer singer has returned to deliver his fourth studio album, Heavy.
Using melodic gospel and inventive, yet soulful production, SiR’s Heavy is a 16-chapter story about struggle, development and self-discovery with sprinkles of some of the same spices that made fans fall in love with the TDE songwriter years ago. Production from Jozzy, vocals from Ty Dolla $ign and verses from Isaiah Rashad add to the warm feeling that the album seemingly offers. Rather than feeling additions for the sake of streaming service algorithms, every feature feels like it was done for the love of music and camaraderie rather than for the sake of crafting the most viral record possible.
