Taylor Swift is reportedly producing generational wealth through Spotify.
The chart-topping recording artist’s catalog garnered more than 26.1 billion streams throughout the last year. With each stream generating an average of $0.0035, Swift made approximately $104 million from Spotify streams through November. If fans continue to stream her music on Spotify at a similar or greater rate, she could make north of $130 million by the end of the year. When adding streaming revenue from other services such as Apple Music and YouTube Music, Billboard expects Swift’s catalog to generate approximately $200 million by the end of the year.
Swift is not the only artist who found success through Spotify in 2023. Bad Bunny, Drake, The Weeknd and Peso Pluma followed the pop star as the world’s top streaming artists on Spotify in 2023. Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti garnered nearly five billion streams despite being released in 2022. “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus was Spotify’s top song in 2023, generating 1.6 billion streams.
