‘Lethal Weapon’ TV series screening, Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA – 12 Sep 2016

Just recently FOX replaced Lethal Weapon star Clayne Crawford after he was fired by the network following allegations of unprofessional and abusive on-set behavior. For the past month, we’ve heard reports that FOX had received multiple complaints from the show’s cast and crew regarding Crawford’s supposed “history of bad behavior” and emotional abuse. Now Lethal Weapon star Damon Wayans has spoken out about his former co-star, detailing new allegations of physical abuse.

On Monday night, shortly after we heard FOX was replacing Crawford with a new character to be played by Seann William Scott, Wayans, who plays the Danny Glover role on the series, broke his silence on Twitter. In a series of tweets that have since been made private (via USA Today, who have screenshots of the tweets), Wayans wrote that Crawford reportedly “hit another actor in the mouth with a bottle of green tea and busted his mouth open,” while tagging actor Lance Henriksen in the tweet. In a separate tweet, Wayans wrote (via Vanity Fair), “Put up with this two seasons. Kiss the dark side of my a– if you don’t understand it wasn’t just me. @ClayneCrawford has a file of infractions.”

The Lethal Weapon actor and comedian also confirmed an early report that he was allegedly hit in the head with a piece of shrapnel during an episode Crawford was directing. Wayans shared a photo of the alleged head injury on Monday. Back in April, Crawford addressed the shrapnel incident in an Instagram post, though he didn’t mention Wayans by name. In it, Crawford claimed he spoke with Human Resources, apologized for the on-set conflict, and said he’d completed studio-mandated therapy.

That’s not all though; in another tweet, Wayans claimed that Warner Bros. TV “is not defending me at all” and shared a photo of a flyer he says was posted across the studio lot featuring a drawing of Crawford’s face with the text “Clayne Crawford is an emotional terrorist.” Wayans additionally wrote of his the since-dismissed actor, “He became UNINSURABLE! Relished in making female cry. And stuck [sic] fear in cast and crew.”

Despite the swirl of allegations and Crawford’s firing, FOX has renewed Lethal Weapon for a third season. A report yesterday claimed Scott will play the brother of Crawford’s Martin Riggs, but the network has yet to make an announcement with any official details.
