Former label boss and manager of TLC Perri Reid aka Pebbles has responded to TLC and VH1’s portrayal of her character in the recent ‘CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story in a statement on her official website.
The owner of Pebbitone Inc. which once housed Diamond certified girl group TLC, claims that VH1 aired an inaccurate portrayal of her character in the movie, going as far as to suggest the band’s version of her was “false” and “defamatory.” Pebbles adds that her attorney is currently in the process of demanding a retraction of said defamatory and false statements from the movie.
“The movie contains many false and defamatory statements and scenes about me. Please know that I have never cheated or misled anyone,” she said in a statement. “I will defend my reputation, accomplishments, and character. My attorney is in the process of demanding a retraction of the false and defamatory statements and scenes about me from VH1.”
Those who tuned into watch VH1’s “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story” earlier this month, saw the trio battle tight recording contracts as well as see their finances being distributed to labels and managers, ultimately leaving the band bankrupt.
