Former New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees may cut ties with NBC after one season with the network. In a surprising turn of events, Brees logged into Twitter and let his followers know that he has not decided what he’d like to do with his future. In fact, he even suggested that he may resume his NFL career.
“Despite speculation from media about my future this fall, I’m currently undecided. I may work for NBC. I may play football again. I may focus on business and philanthropy. I may train for the pickleball tour, senior golf tour, coach my kids or all of the above. I’ll let you know,” he tweeted.
Brees’ potential departure from NBC follows reports from sports media insider Andrew Marchand that FOX had been courting the former NFL quarterback. However, it is unclear how Brees may fit into the network’s plans after locking in a massive deal with Tom Brady earlier this month. In addition to FOX, Marchand has also suggested that Amazon may court the formal NFL quarterback as it looks to expand its live sports offerings. With that said, nothing has been set in stone just yet. As a result, Brees remains a free agent in the sports media landscape.
