Harvard University graduate Yara Shahidi has reportedly extended her overall deal with ABC, Freefrom and the Onyx Collective.
“It is every creative’s dream to be seen and heard and to do so with colleagues who align with your vision and your soul. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to continue to create with our Disney family and be grounded in the work that Onyx Collective is doing to meet the moment,” Yara Shahidi and her business partner, Keri Shahidi, said in a joint press statement.
Shahidi has been active both in the world of film and television. Shahidi starred in the eighth and final season of Black-ish. She also appeared in the fourth season of Grown-ish as the show said goodbye to the original cast. Moving forward, the award-winning actress will appear in Apple TV+’s upcoming series, Extrapolation.
Shahidi will also appear in a number of films as well. She has landed the role of Tinker Bell in Peter Pan & Wendy and she will also star in Netflix’s My Father’s Dragon.
Under her deal with ABC and the Onyx Collective, Shahidi will continue to expand her television and film portfolio by working with Onyx president Tara Duncan on new projects.
