First and foremost it is great to see Tracy Morgan back in action and in good health, God bless. Since his almost life ending car accident, many have wondered will Tracy be back. Well in October he returned home to Saturday Night Live which was a sight to see, it is also been reported that he’ll be headlining a tour in 2016 titled ‘Picking Up The Pieces’ and not to mention he is returning to doing to film.
In 2014 Morgan was hitting his stride, featured in such movies as Rio 2, The Boxtrolls and Top Five, things were only looking up. Well we all know what caused his set back so to pick back up where he left off, we can expect to see him starring in The Night Before as the voice of Santa Claus and the upcoming film ‘Fist Fight’ along side Ice Cube.
The biggest news though as of late for Tracy Morgan is that he has been officially announced to play the role of Redd Foxx in the upcoming ‘Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?’ biopic. Here’s what he had to say about that,
“Mr. Foxx, I hope I do you justice!” said Morgan in a statement accompanying the news. “It will be an honor to portray an icon.”
The cast so far for this upcoming film is star studded, playing Richard Pryor himself is none other than funny man Mike Epps. Playing the role of Jennifer Pryor his widow is Kate Hudson, Pryor’s mother, Gertrude Pryor will be played by Taraji P Henson while his father Leroy Pryor will be portrayed by veteran comedian, Eddie Murphy. Last and certainly not least on this list of high profile actors is Oprah Winfrey as Marie Carter, Pryor’s grandmother.
