
WBO Featherweight Champion Emmanuel Navarrete is set to fight Liam Wilson in a super featherweight bout on February 3, 2023. Afterward, initial reports suggest he will fight Oscar Valdez for a vacant super featherweight belt. In his absence, the WBO has made reportedly made plans to have Robeisy Ramirez and Emmanuel Navarrete fight for an interim or vacant version of the WBO Featherweight Championship. The featherweight clash is reportedly set to take place on April 1, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Given both fighter’s affiliations with Top Rank, the bout will likely be televised on ESPN or ESPN+.
Ramirez enters the bout with nearly four years of professional experience and a record of 11-1 with seven knockouts. Of his seven knockout wins, three have taken place in his last three fights. In his last outing, he stopped Jose Matias Romero at the Hulu Theater in New York, New York on October 29, 2022.
Previously, Dogboe held the junior WBO Featherweight Championship before losing it to Navarrete in 2018. After losing a rematch to Navarrete in 2019, he has won four consecutive bouts at featherweight. Most recently, he beat former title challenger Joet Gonzalez by split decision.
