The Dallas Cowboys could have a quarterback controversy, but owner and general manager Jerry Jones would welcome it. With Dak Prescott missing time after an injury to his hand, Cooper Rush has stepped in for the team. Expectations were relatively low, but Cooper Rush delivered a big-time win against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week Two of the 2022 NFL season. Jones is hoping that Cooper Rush continues to win games and makes some decisions very hard for the team coming up. America’s Team certainly loves keeping things exciting.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones entertained idea Cooper Rush could play well enough, team could win enough to force decision at QB when Dak Prescott able to return. “Wouldn’t it be something if you had a dilemma as to which way to go?” You’d want that controversy? “Of course I would.” pic.twitter.com/oSXzHAMabk

The Dallas Cowboys are well known for enjoying the national media spotlight and Jerry Jones is a big part of that. Could Cooper Rush really play well enough to threaten Dak Prescott’s starting job? Well, ask Tony Romo. Jones has been more than willing to make big and bold moves if he thinks it will lead to more wins. With Jones though it really is just hard to say when he’s serious.
Regarding Jerry Jones’ comments about Dak Prescott returning as the starting QB when healthy, Ezekiel Elliott dismissed it as clickbait opinion. “He want y’all to be clicking and listening, too. It’s all marketing. It’s all marketing.”

Take this Jerry Jones quote how you want knowing what you know about him: “Of course, I would. Of course. That means we’d have won. If he comes in there and plays as well as Prescott played, Rush? Played that well over these next games ahead? I’d walk to New York to get that.”
The Dallas Cowboys play the New York Giants on Monday Night Football in Week Three.
