NBA veteran wing Andre Iguodala has announced he will sign back with the Golden State Warriors for his 19th NBA season. He announced the decision on his Point Forward podcast. While he did not play as much this past season due to injuries, he was an invaluable voice of leadership on the team. He was quoted saying “I’m letting you know now, Steph, this the last one.” So it seems the 2022-23 NBA season will be the last year the veteran wing suits up in the NBA.

Last season with the Golden State Warriors, Andre Iguodala averaged 4.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 38 percent and a three-point percentage of 23 percent. During this season he helped mentor the younger players on the roster to an NBA Championship. In his career with the Golden State Warriors, Iguodala is a four-time NBA Champion and the 2014-15 Finals MVP.

It seems likely that Andre Iguodala will play a similar role this year with the Golden State Warriors. He will come off the bench and play in some key moments for the team. His value as a mentor is a big addition to the team and could help lead them to his fifth NBA Championship. We here at Def Pen Sports would like to congratulate him on his long and successful career in the NBA.
