Issa Rae may have just wrapped up the final season of her hit show, Insecure, but she has already began working on her next big project, Rap Sh*t. Executive produced by the City Girls and Rae, the series will follow two estranged high school friends from Miami, Florida as they come together to form a rap group. As previously reported, Rae and company have landed Aida Osman, KaMillion, Jonica Booth, Devon Terrell and RJ Cyler for the upcoming series, Rap Sh*t. Now, it appears that a few more stars will join the cast. The Wrap has shared that Brittney Jefferson and DomiNque Perry will also appear in the show.
Jefferson is an Alabama A&M University graduate who previously lived in Miami, Florida before returning to Los Angeles, California and restarting her acting career. Over the years, she has appeared in a number of series including American Soul and The Bobby Brown Story. In Rap Sh*t, Jefferson will play the role of Aleesia. Her character is described as a young woman with “high standards and is not afraid to remind others of that fact.”
Jefferson’s co-star, Perry, has previously worked with Rae on the aforementioned series, Insecure. Across two seasons, Perry portrayed Tasha, a former love interest of Jay Ellis’ Lawrence. Beyond her work with Rae, Perry has also appeared in Snowfall, Get Hard and Rel. For her latest project, Perry will play the role of Nelly, “a single mother [who] still loves to have a good time partying.”
