Undisputed middleweight champion Claressa Shields is reportedly scheduled to fight Hanna Gabriels on June 3 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The bout is expected to be broadcast on DAZN, but no undercard bouts have been set as of now.
“Thanks to all my fans in advance and to all of Gabriel’s fans! Regardless of who you are cheering for, this fight will be fireworks,” she wrote on Instagram.
Claressa Shields has not fought in the United States since 2021. On March 5, 2021, she beat Marie-Eve Dicaire by a unanimous decision to claim the undisputed 154-pound title. Since then, she has traveled to Wales to beat Ema Kozin by unanimous decision and London to beat Savannah Marshall by unanimous decision. In addition, she amassed a mixed martial arts record of 1-1 in the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
Hannah Garbiels previously fought Claressa Shields on June 18, 2022 in Detroit. After losing by unanimous decision, Gabriels moved down to 154 pounds to defeat Sarah Dwyer and Abril Vidal. Most recently, she moved up to light heavyweight to knockout Martha Gaytán and claim two world titles. However, she has not fought since stopping Gaytán in 2021.
