Damian Lillard has made himself one of the best NBA point-guards in the short span of his career, which would make him a wanted player on any team. But this time Lillard is being sought out by a couple of teams right now, but not in the NBA, in the music industry.
According to TMZ, Lillard’s agent Aaron Goodwin spoke about the multiple record labels looking into Damian Lillard’s recent rap career:
Now, the record labels want a piece of the action — with his agent, Aaron Goodwin, telling TMZ Sports they’ve been approached by “several major labels” … though he wouldn’t specify which ones.
Goodwin says Lillard is interested — but doesn’t want go down that road until after the NBA season is over.“We’ve put it on hold until the summer,” Goodwin says … “We will explore those options versus starting his own label. A distribution partner is really what’s needed.”
Basketball players have not done well as rappers in the past, like Ron Artest, Lou Williams, Tony Parker, and arguably the best Shaquille O’Neal. Labels probably think things will be different with Lillard, and I agree. Dame first started with “4 bar Friday’s” which grew in popularity leading to him making actual records and they’re fire. Lillard has proven to grow in popularity in the rap industry, including his latest song Talk To Em’ which dropped under his rap alias Dame D.O.L.L.A. Let us know what you think!
