It’s still unclear who will perform in Las Vegas, Nevada at halftime of Super Bowl LVIII, but ESPN has decided who will curate the soundtrack for select Monday Night Football broadcast on ESPN. Timbaland and Justin Timberlake will supervise the music selection for Monday Night Football broadcasts in Week 1, Week 6, Week 11, Week 16, Week 18 and two playoff games.
“Football and music go hand-in-hand, like the iconic Timbaland and Justin Timberlake duo, who collaborate on music to near perfection,” ESPN Senior Director of Sports Marketing Curtis Friends said.
“ESPN’s Monday Night Football music curatorship is popular with fans given the access this partnership provides to new and unexpected combinations of music with sport. We’ve had Diplo, DJ Khaled, Drake, and Marshmello and this fifth season, for the first time, we have two curators in Timbaland/JT we know will energize all us fans for this NFL football season.”
The collaboration will begin on September 1 with the release of “Keep Going Up” by Timbaland and Nelly Furtado. The single will serve as the lead promotional track for the first Monday Night Football broadcast of the year — Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets.
