The University of North Carolina distributed an emergency alert to students and faculty at approximately 1:04 p.m. EST after an “armed and dangerous person” was reportedly seen “on or near campus.” Shortly thereafter, multiple reports suggested that there were shots fired near Caudill Labs, a science center located on the university’s main campus.
