Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) hosted its tenth-annual Christmas concert, toy drive and toy giveaway on December 19-20 at Nickerson Gardens in Watts, California. The annual Christmas concert featured special performances and appearances from TDE artists like SZA, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Doechii, Isaiah Rashad, SiR, and Ab-Soul. Complimenting the holiday concert, the community giveback featured a youth toy drive, a job fair and complimentary medical services for individuals and families with no insurance.
“I grew up here and for people to see us come back and give back, it’s a blessing. I was one of these kids out here too,” Jay Rock said.
“This lets them know that they can do this too. If there’s a kid out there trying to strive for something great, it’s motivation that no matter where you come from, you can make it out if you stay dedicated.”
TDE hosts its tenth annual as it wraps up another groundbreaking year. SZA earned nine nominations at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Reason released his sophomore album, Porches, with contributions from SiR, Ray Vaughn and Doechii. Not to mention, Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock have teased new projects.
