On Saturday, December 23, Travis Scott and the Cactus Jack Foundation hosted their fifth annual Winter Wonderland pop-up park and holiday drive. Held at the Houston Opportunity Center, Scott and the Cactus Jack Foundation distributed 25,000 pounds of food and 3,000 toys to more than 1,000 families in the Houston, Texas area. Also, the holiday drive featured a Cactus.Us Design Center activation. With support from school staff members, the activation included an interactive creative gaming station and a Cactus Jack merch giveaway.
Preparing for a show in Newark, New Jersey, Travis Scott was unable to attend the holiday giveaway. However, Scott’s mother, father, brother and sister were in attendance alongside Harris County Juvenile Probation Executive Director Henry Gonzales, Houston City Council Member Edward Pollard and Madres del Parque Co-Founder Maria Hernandez.
Travis Scott is at the tail end of an important year in his career. The Texas native delivered his fourth studio LP, Utopia, in July. The 19-track LP featured Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, Drake, The Weeknd, SZA, Future, Dave Chappelle and countless other stars. Two months later, he kicked off his latest tour, the Circus Maximus Tour, in Charlotte, North Carolina. In the midst of the tour, Travis Scott’s Utopia earned a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards.
