C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans were able to earn a pivotal, five-point victory against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, December 3 at NRG Stadium. Unfortunately, the Texans lost one of their most explosive receivers in the process.
Less than four minutes remained in the opening period when running back Dameon Pierce extended the Houston Texans’ lead to nine points with a three-yard touchdown run. During the play, one of Dell’s legs appeared to get caught in a pile of players as he attempted to block for Pierce. After the play, Dell would receive medical attention and be carted off the field.
Dell is one of Houston’s most promising offensive weapons. Through ten games, he has caught 47 passes for 709 yards and seven touchdowns. In addition, he has rushed for 51 yards and earned another 144 yards as a returner.
After losing Dell, the Texans were able to hold on to win by five points despite being outscored 17-13 after his injury. With the win, the Texans improve to 7-5 and remain well within the AFC playoff picture.
