Lightweight prospects Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield and Ashton “H20” Sylve will meet at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on July 20 for a 10-round clash. Schofield enters the bout with a spotless record of 17-0 with 12 knockouts while his opponent, Sylve, also carries an unblemished record of 11-0 with nine knockouts.
“I can’t wait to step into the ring with Kid Austin. He’s just another stepping stone on my path to greatness and when I’m done with him, he’ll wish he never signed the contract,” Sylve said after the bout was announced.
“I’ve worked super hard to get to fights like these, and now it’s time to show what I got. I step into that ring undefeated, and I will leave undefeated. H2O may doubt me, but he’ll soon realize he is facing an unstoppable force. This is my moment, and I look forward to showing the world what Kid Austin is capable of,” Schofield countered.
Alongside Schofield and Sylve, former UFC Darren Till will challenge former WBC Middleweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a six-round bout. Till heads to Texas with no professional boxing experience, but a nine-year mixed martial arts career complete with 18 wins, five losses and one draw. Meanwhile, Chavez Jr. brings a pro boxing record of 53-6-1, but has not fought in nearly three years.
“I’m excited to return to the ring after some time off, and I’m motivated and eager to reestablish myself as one of the greats,” Chavez Jr. said.
“I’ve been a fan of his father for many years and I’ve been a fan of Chavez Jr. too – he is a great fighter who I respect, but make no mistake about it, I am coming to knock him out in the first round. I am happy with where I am in life, and I am coming to make a statement on Saturday, July 20th in Texas,” Till added.
Sylve, Schofield, Chavez Jr. and Till will take part in Netflix’s first live boxing event led by Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor.
