It appears that all four championships belt will be on the line in early 2023 as Tim Tszyu and Jermell Charlo line up an exciting showdown. While this is exciting news for many fans, it leaves undefeated super welterweight contender Sebastian Fundora looking for his next opponent. Following his powerful victory over Erickson Lubin in April, Fundora will attempt to re-enter the ring on October 8, 2022 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. An opponent has not been identified, but the event is expected to air on Showtime.
Fundora may not have an opponent just yet, but he will not be alone in Carson, California on October 8. In addition to thousands of screaming fans, the 24-year-old boxer will be joined by his sister, Gabriela Fundora. Gabriela Fundora, who holds a record of 8-0 with four knockouts, will also continue her career with her 10th pro fight. Like her brother, the southpaw based in California does not yet have an opponent yet. As reported by Michael Rothstein of ESPN, October 8 will mark the first time that the Fundora siblings have fought on the same card.
The Sebastian Fundora-led card adds to an exciting slate of fights set for the month of October. One week after the Fundora siblings show off their skills, Devin Haney will look to defend all of his lightweight titles in Australia against George Kambosos. Differing from the Fundora card, Kambosos-Haney will air on ESPN.
