Drake has dominated the charts for more than a decade and he has come to know how undeniable his commercial success is. In fact, the Toronto superstar spoke to his success on the second verse of “What’s Next” from Scary Hours II.
“I’m on the hot one hundo, numero uno/This one ain’t come with a bundle,” he raps.
It appears that he was on to something. Early projections suggest that the Canadian Grammy winner will move one million units of his latest EP, Scary Hours II, during its first week. Thus far, all three songs from the project have climbed into the top four spots on the Spotify charts. Furthermore, “What’s Next” is expected to unseat Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” as the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100.
Scary Hours II has set the bar for his upcoming album, Certified Lover Boy. It is unclear when it will arrive, but rumors suggest it will drop in April.
“CLB is currently being cheffed in every way possible,” he said on Sound 42.
“I’m just really excited about the music that we’re making and I feel like I’ve locked into a zone where I’m really trying to execute on a project that’s fulfilling for my soul.”
Drake's "What's Next" is currently pacing for a #1 debut on next week's Hot 100.
