Less than ten days separate fight fans from one of the biggest events of the year. On April 22, 2023, WBA “Regular” Lightweight Champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis will fight Ryan Garcia at a catchweight in Las Vegas, Nevada. Leading up to the main event, a number of rising contenders will enter the ring as well. Most notably, undefeated super middleweight David Morrell Jr. will fight Ghana’s Sena Agbek, who has won 12 of his last 13 fights. Shortly before Morrell Jr. makes his mark on Sin City, rising super middleweight contender Bektemir Melikuziev will have an opportunity to avenge his lone career loss against veteran and Creed star Gabriel Rosado. Rounding out the card, 19-year-old prospect Elijah Garcia will put his unblemished record on the line against Kevin Salgado.
Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Ryan Garcia will kick off a string of pay-per-view events within the sport of boxing. Two weeks after the catchweight clash, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will return to his home country of Mexico to fight U.K. super middleweight John Ryder. Later that month, Vasyl Lomachenko will attempt to regain his undisputed lightweight title against Devin Haney. Not to be forgotten, a number of non-PPV events will take place as well, including Teofimo Lopez-Josh Taylor and Chantelle Cameron-Katie Taylor. Now, fans can make the motion to pre-order the catchweight clash via Showtime or DAZN.
