Jake Paul had a few choice words for Floyd Mayweather Jr. after the former champion and a few of his associates allegedly approached him in Miami, Florida this week.
Video obtained by TMZ appears to show Mayweather Jr. and a few of his associates trading words with Paul following Wednesday’s Cavaliers-Heat game at FTX Arena. As the interaction gains steam, Paul appears to run away from the situation. No punches appear to be thrown and it is unclear if Mayweather Jr. said anything to Paul.
“Floyd Mayweather and 50 dudes pull up out of nowhere, out of like some side alley, waiting for me outside of the stadium, and they’re like, ‘So what’s up? So what’s all that talk now?'” Paul said on Instagram.
“I’m like first of all, what did I say to you Floyd? I just took your hat and you’re still mad about it? Come on, bro. And then 50 dudes literally start surrounding me to try to jump me, and I’m out that b*tch, OK?”
Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Jake Paul were last seen to get in Mami, Florida nearly two years ago. While promoting an exhibition bout with Paul’s brother, Logan, Jake and Floyd met face to face as they appear to discuss a potential fight.
“Let’s do it,” Mayweather Jr. said.
“Let’s make it happen,” Paul fires back.
“Get the paperwork for this bum,” the former champion shouts.
“Get Al Haymon,” Paul replies.
“I don’t need Al Haymon. I’m my own boss,” Mayweather Jr. retorts.
Ultimately, the back-and-forth ends with Jake Paul grabbing the baseball cap atop Mayweather Jr.’s head and running away. The former champion angrily ran after Paul, but was separated before the altercation became physical.
Now, it appears Paul is interested in making a fight with Mayweather Jr. happen. After his most recent altercation with the former champion, Paul says that he’d like to fight him in the near future.
“Floyd will not see me 1 on 1 in a real fight,” Paul tweeted.
“That’s a fact. His team has hit my team numerous times to do one of his ‘exhibitions’. Now he ambushes me. Come see me in the ring, real fight, no exhibition robbing fans bullsh*t.”
Mayweather Jr. has not yet responded to Paul’s most recent claims.
