There isn’t much Manny Pacquiao hasn’t achieved in the boxing ring. He’s won world titles in eight divisions while picking up wins against Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez and several other world-class opponents. Not to mention, he’s made millions of dollars and improved the lives of those around him. Still, he has the desire to lace up his gloves one last time. More than a year after announcing his retirement from the sport of boxing, Pacquiao is reportedly interested in participating in one more bout before calling it quits for good.
“I talked to Manny on the phone. He wants to fight one more time. He does,” Pacuqiao’s longtime trainer, Freddie Roach, said.
The eight-division champion hasn’t indicated who he’d like to fight, but he’s made one thing clear. He is not looking to participate in an exhibition bout. Pacquiao is looking to enter the ring for a sanctioned professional fight.
“Oh no, no. He wants a real fight,” Roach explained.
“I haven’t let him choose anyone yet, but he wants one more fight. His wife called me up and said, ‘Don’t let him fight!’ Then, I try to be on her side and so forth, but when a man in the sport wants to fight, he’s [going to] fight.”
