In two months, Jermell Charlo will make his way to Sin City for a date with undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. For now, he is spending time in Las Vegas to support his stablemate, Errol Spence Jr. On Saturday, July 29, Errol Spence Jr. will look to dethrone Terence Crawford and join Charlo in the history books as an undisputed champion during the four-belt era. With only a day left until the first round begins, Charlo has elected to place a bet on Spence Jr.
“Absolutely! That [Spence] is my guy, I’ll put down a solid $25,000. I really don’t like to talk to crazy with the betting, but I’ll bet $25,000 and have fun, enjoy my night in Vegas,” Charlo said, according to Boxing Social.
He isn’t stopping there. He’s going as far as to say Spence Jr. will knock out Crawford before the second half of the fight gets going.
“He’s trained too hard to lose, he’s the best in the game right now at 147 – nobody’s rocking with him. Round six,” he added.
On Saturday, Spence Jr. will either win Charlo a ton of money or he will walk away empty-handed. Either way, it will be a fight to remember.
