The show must go on! JJ “KSI” Olatunji will not fight Dillon Danis on January 14, 2023, but he will put his blossoming boxing record on the line against FaZe Temperrr instead. The two social media stars turned fighters will share the ring next Saturday at OVO Arena Wembley in London, England.
FaZe Temperrr was not originally scheduled to fight KSI on January 14, 2023. Mixed martial artist Dillon Danis was originally set to challenge the YouTube personality, but he pulled out of the fight earlier this week. Danis has not issued an official statement explaining why he pulled out of the bout, but KSI’s manager, Mams Taylor, claims that he withdrew because he was “unprepared.”
“The real reason is, from what they said to me, is that he’s underprepared,” Taylor said on Wednesday.
“He has no coach. He might be struggling with weight even though there’s no rehydration. He has not been able to find a team that’s going to support him to bring him into the fight and obviously he’s got some other issues I think.”
With Danis out of the picture, FaZe Temperrr of the FaZe Gaming Clan will have a chance to improve his boxing resumé. Like KSI, he is undefeated as a boxer with limited experience. However, he does possess a four-inch height advantage and he likely holds a reach advantage as well.
Meanwhile, KSI enters the bout as the betting favorite and the fresher fighter. He last fought Brandon “Swarmz” Scott and Luis Alcaraz Pineda on August 27, 2022 on DAZN. This month, he’ll return to the streaming service with more to prove.
