Utah Utes running back Micah Bernard has announced that he will enter the transfer portal with the intent of leaving the program. This decision comes after the team’s 35-21 loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions in the 2023 Rose Bowl. Bernard was the team’s second-leading rusher this year and was expected to have an increased role next season. The sophomore running back has plenty of experience as a running back and a few years of legibility left as well. There should be several power five programs interested in his services for the upcoming college football season.

This season with the Utah Utes, Micah Bernard rushed the ball 106 times for 533 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 34 passes for 314 yards and one touchdown. There will be several programs that look to add the running back to their roster. He has already been linked to the BYU Cougars, but there will likely be other programs that show interest. Bernard is a top-level running back and will be a huge addition to the program he transfers to next season. That decision will depend on he best fit for him with the roster and with his NIL package.
