The late, great NBA Champion Kobe Bryant will grace the cover of NBA 2K24 when it hits digital and physical shelves later this year.
The NBA legend has covered the video game three times before. Most recently, he graced a special edition of the video game that was released a few months after he, his daughter, Giana, and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
“As we celebrate 25 years of NBA 2K with Kobe Bryant, we commemorate his legacy and the generational impact he has had on the game of basketball,” Visual Concepts President Greg Thomas said.
“While we mark the history of the franchise, NBA 2K24 also looks ahead to the future to bring an innovative leap in technology and the introduction of community-requested features like crossplay.”
The Kobe Bryant-led release will be offered in the following variations: Kobe Bryant Edition and Black Mamba Edition. The pre-order process will begin on July 7, 2023, according to the NBA 2K Instagram account.
