It is not often that “cocaine” and “White House” appear in the same sentence within a news report. However, there is always an exception to the rule.
On Sunday, President Joe Biden left the White House and ventured off to Camp David in Mountain Park, Maryland. While he was away, Secret Service agents reportedly discovered a suspicious powdered substance in the West Wing. The substance was tested shortly thereafter and multiple reports indicate that it was cocaine.
“The item was sent for further evaluation and an investigation into the cause and manner of how it entered the White House is pending,” the Secret Service said.
After the substance was discovered on Sunday, the President and his family returned to Pennsylvania Avenue on Tuesday to celebrate Independence Day. The President and Dr. Jill Biden hosted a celebration on the South Lawn with live musical performances from Ne-Yo, D-Nice and Brothers Osborne. The holiday concluded with the annual fireworks show on the National Mall.
The President nor the First Lady have offered an official comment on the report yet.
