Welcome to New York City. Free agency has treated the New York Knicks well. The latest free agency news is Julius Randle and the Knicks agreeing to a 4-year, $117 million contract extension. Randle’s breakout 2020-2021 campaign with the New York Knicks didn’t take long to earn its dividends.

The 26-year-old veteran earned 2nd team All-NBA honors, berthed his first All-Star appearance, and lastly, won the Most Improved Player award. Although the Knicks didn’t sign a superstar in 2019 free agency, they found their star in Randle. The frontcourt star played a significant role in earning the Knicks a home-court playoff advantage.

During the Knicks’ unceremonious exit from the first round, Randle didn’t have a good outing versus the Atlanta Hawks. Yet, the Knicks rewarded their sole All-Star with a fruitful extension. In addition to the Knicks 2021 free agency acquisitions, Randle sets the precedent of what to expect for New York’s future. The goal now for the New York Knicks is to make it to the second round and beyond of the NBA playoffs.
