2020 Five-Star guard Josh Primo announced today that he would be committing to the University of Alabama. He announced his commitment earlier today and committed to Alabama over Creighton. Primo is Alabama’s second class of 2020 commitment, alongside 4 Star Keon Ambrose-Hylton. Nate Oats brought in a strong class last year and will return a majority of his players next year. Alabama may lose star guard tandem Kira Lewis and John Petty to the NBA draft, but both will have the option to return to school.
What Josh Primo will bring to Alabama
With a 6-5 frame + long arms, Josh Primo looked comfortable operating on + off the ball at the 2020 #NBA Basketball Without Borders Camp. Josh Primo was a class of 2021 recruit before deciding in mid-February to reclassifying to the class of 2020. Primo stands at 6-6, with long arms, terrific size and is an explosive athlete. Athletically and frame-wise, he is the ideal combo guard, paired with strong ball-handling skills makes him an exciting prospect. He can score at all three levels but will need to continue to develop his shot and work on. Another major component that has been raised by scouts is his mental maturity for his age, with Primo exhibiting some great basketball IQ and decision making. Josh Primo is an exciting prospect and should flourish in the Nate Oats system. Alabama is getting a seriously talented player.
