ESPN’s team of college football reporters has grown just a bit bigger this week. This week, the self-proclaimed worldwide leader in sports has added sports reporter and Peloton instructor Jess Sims to its College Gameday crew. In this role, she will interact with fans on campuses across the nation as the wild college football season unfolds.
“I am so excited to join the GameDay crew because the show not only celebrates all of the on-field action, but also highlights the passionate communities that surround the games,” Sims said about her new role.
“This is such a great opportunity to get back to my roots in college sports and I can’t wait to meet incredible athletes and fans and explore these campuses and cities that eat, sleep and breathe their hometown teams.”
The world may know Jess Sims as a Peloton instructor, but her experience extends beyond the fitness platform. She played college basketball at Trinity College before working as a sideline reporter for the New York Liberty.
Now, Jess Sims will join a broadcast crew that includes Rece Davis, ee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, David Pollack and several others.
“Jess is a rising star who exudes personality and energy. We’re looking forward to her adding to the excitement surrounding College GameDay each week throughout the season – both during the show and as we engage with students and fans on every campus we visit” ESPN executive Lee Fitting said.
The 2022-2023 college football season will kick off on August 27. However, the College Gameday crew will begin their in-season run at the “Backyard Brawl” in Pittsburgh on September 1.
