Former Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett will make his way to NBC Studios this fall. Andrew Marchand of the New York Post has reported that Garrett will join NBC’s Football Night In America pregame show during the 2022-2023 NFL Season.
Prior to joining NBC, Garrett coached the Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants from 2005 through 2020. After finishing up his most recent season with the Giants, Garrett was considered to be a candidate for a head coaching position at Duke University. However, the position ended up going to Mike Elko.
Garrett will take the position of Drew Brees. Earlier this year, the Super Bowl Champion left the network after one season.
“The unbelievable busyness of an NFL career and then really not taking a break at all and launching right in with us with both Notre Dame football and the NFL, it was certainly an around-the-clock assignment,” NBC Sports Chairman Pete Bevacqua told the Associated Press.
“This was definitely a lifestyle choice for him, which is totally understandable.”
Brees has not declared what he intends to do next with his career.
