Dan Quinn has informed teams that he will be staying with the Dallas Cowboys as their defensive coordinator. Six teams requested interviews with him during the offseason to be their new Head Coach. He has expressed interest in attempting to win a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys. It is likely that he still has more head coaching aspirations, but for now, he is comfortable coaching the much-improved defense in Dallas.

Bears considered Jim Caldwell and Dan Quinn, but ultimately wound up on Colts’ DC Matt Eberflus, per sources. https://t.co/dxTtplmeLu

Dan Quinn was previously the Head Coach for the Atlanta Falcons where he did lead the team to a Super Bowl appearance. Unfortunately, that game is well remembered as an embarrassing implosion by the Falcons. Few people will ever forget Tom Brady’s epic and historic comeback to win that game. That being said Quinn was largely responsible for the Legion of Boom in Seattle and turning around a historically bad Dallas Cowboy’s defense.
There is no change to Cowboys DC Dan Quinn’s contract or job title, source said. He returns to Dallas because this is where he wants to be. Quinn felt rejuvenated with franchise in 2021 following end in Atlanta. Amid external HC interest, he wants to build on what was started.

Quinn has seemingly found a home in Dallas and wants to stay there for now. Dallas looked poised to compete for a Super Bowl this year, but it was largely the offense that cost them a chance at it late in the season.
