This weekend, Jake Paul has directed all of his energy toward Most Valuable Promotions‘ Amanda Serrano and her title fight with Katie Taylor at Madison Square Garden. However, he hasn’t quite taken his eyes off of his own boxing aspirations. After securing a highlight reel knockout against former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in 2021, he’s looking to make a major splash in 2022. During a recent interview with Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, Paul confirmed that he will return to the ring in August.
“People are wondering when you’re going to be back in the ring. Have you given much thought to your next move?” Mannix asked.
“Yeah, I’ll be back in August. We’re locking down the [exact] date, opponent and venue. There are a lot of names on the list [of potential opponents] and I’m excited to come in off of the knockout of the year. [I want to come out and] put on another electric performance,” Paul answered.
At the moment, Paul has identified former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and mixed martial arts legend Anderson Silva as potential opponents. Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s younger brother, Tommy, also remains in consideration as a potential opponent.
“Is Tommy Fury on that list?” Mannix asked.
“Yeah, he’s definitely on the list,” Paul answered.
Paul has amassed knockout wins against each of his four opponents. Moving forward, he remains one of the largest box office draws in the sport.
