It’s amazing how much can change within a few years. During the summer of 2018, much of the world’s focus was shifted toward Travis Scott’s Astroworld, Pusha T’s Daytona, Drake’s Scorpion and a track called “The Story of Adidon.” In the midst of all that was happening, a Louisville native in the city of Atlanta, Georgia was beginning to make noise with the rise of single called “Sundown.” Over time, he would shoot a video with K Camp, hone his skills under the leadership of DJ Drama and develop as an MC. Nearly a year later, things shifted. Just a few weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic began to shutdown American society, Jack Harlow teamed up with Cole Bennett to shoot the “What’s Poppin'” video. From then on, nothing has been the same. The Generation Now frontman has delivered his debut album, toured the country and earned co-signs from the likes of Drake and Kanye West. Now, he’s taking the next step with the release of his sophomore album, Come Home The Kids Miss You.
Less than two years after dropping That’s What They All Say, Jack Harlow has returned with a new, complete body of work. Led by singles like “Nail Tech” and “First Class,” the project features Drake, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell. Behind the scenes, the album also showcases the production stylings of John Mayer, Boi-1da, Jasper Harris and others.
Jack Harlow isn’t done just yet. The album arrives just in time for him to return home for the Kentucky Derby. Also, he’s slated to appear on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. With all that is going for the Louisville native, it’s hard to believe that he was relatively unknown a few years ago. Now, his album release date is major news.
