In the future, EMI is going to take care of G-Unit’s releases in the USA and Canada. G-Unit Records has signed an exclusive distribution and marketing deal with EMI Label Services. Lloyd Banks’ new album “Hunger For More 2” will be the first project. “Hunger For More 2” is slated for a release on November 23, the same day as Nicki Minaj’s debut album “Pink Friday”.
“We are delighted to join forces with G-Unit and artists who are truly marquee names in hip-hop,” said Mike Harris, executive Vice President/General Manager for EMI Label Services and Caroline Distribution.
G-Unit, formerly with Interscope Records, also aims to release Tony Yayo’s still-untitled sophomore album in early 2011. The disc will include the single “Pass the Patron” with 50 Cent, while Banks’ “Hunger For More 2” features “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley” alongside Juelz Santana.
“It’s refreshing to see the EMI staff excited about my project, they have the passion and energy I haven’t seen in a while,” said Banks.
