Former New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees has joined NBC Sports. Brees shared the news on TODAY earlier today.
“We’re excited to have Drew join our team,” NBC Sports Group Chairman Pete Bevacqua said in a press release.
“We know that Drew will apply the same work ethic and continuously positive attitude to everything he touches at NBC Sports and we know, as his new teammates, he’ll make us better.”
The announcement comes hours after Brees announced that he would retire from the NFL. The legendary quarterback played 20 seasons for the Saints and Chargers. He won a Super Bowl title and appeared in 13 Pro Bowls.
“After 20 years as a player in the NFL and 15 years as a Saint, it is time I retire from the game of football. Each day, I poured my heart & soul into being your Quarterback,” he said.
“Til’ the very end, I exhausted myself to give everything I had to the Saints organization, my team, and the great city of New Orleans. We shared some amazing moments together, many of which are emblazoned in our hearts and minds and will forever be a part of us.”
