DreamWorks Animation and Hasbro are looking to team up into a single entertainment company called DreamWorks-Hasbro.
According to Deadline , the two companies have decided that DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffery Katzenberg will lead the new company, once the merger is official.
In addition to the Hasbro deal, DWA is also considering selling 25% of its AwesomenessTV to Heart Publishing for $81.5 million.
About $56 million of the deal will go to DWA, while the remaining amount will be invested back into AwesomnessTV.
The possible venture will allow for both companies to launch three new digital channels, one of Awesomeness TV, another targeted to mothers, and the third to focus on children’s sports, including how-to-videos from professional athletes.
