DJ Drama has risen to new heights within the last two years. He picked up a Grammy Award for his contributions to Tyler, The Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost and recently won the “Best DJ” category at the 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards. Not to be forgotten, he performed at Dreamville Festival in North Carolina, steered the career of Jack Harlow and appeared on Complex‘s Blueprint. With all of that going on, the world-renowned DJ and producer has not forgotten the mixtape series that elevated him into the national consciousness, Gangsta Grillz.
Just a few weeks after teaming up to deliver the “I Ain’t Gon Hold Ya” video, DJ Drama and Jeezy have returned to announce their joint “B-Sides” concert. Together, the duo will take the stage at a secret venue in Atlanta, Georgia on October 15, 2022.
“One night and one night only! For all my day ones, [we’re] doing all your mixtape favorites,” Jeezy told fans.
“Let’s get it snow! Mr. Thanksgiving,” DJ Drama added.
DJ Drama and Jeezy have rocked stages together for more than a decade. In 2005, they shook up the mixtape landscape when they delivered Trap or Die. The legendary mixtape is often referred to as one of the greatest Gangsta Grillz projects of all time.
“There have been a few times that I’ve picked Dedication II over Trap or Die. Last night, I was onstage during Jeezy’s set and I told him and the crowd that Trap or Die is the best mixtape of all time,” DJ Drama said on Twitter in April.
“He literally called Lake when he got on the jet and said, “Tell Drama that he said it and he can’t take it back now.’ I knew that was a direct shot at me recently picking Dedication II with B. Dot on Complex.”
