The National Basketball Association (NBA) has suspended San Antonio Spurs Guard Devonte’ Graham for two games. The University of Kansas product will serve the suspension at the start of the 2023-2024 NBA Regular Season.
The first suspension of Graham’s career stems from an incident that reportedly occurred on July 7, 2022 in his home state of North Carolina. According to a police report, the NBA guard was allegedly driving 23 miles per hour above the speed limit at approximately 2:39 a.m. in Wake County. When authorities stopped him, he reportedly “displayed signs of impairment” and had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) that was 37.5% above the state limit. Ultimately, he received a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated and was able to play in the 2022-2023 NBA Season.
Graham nor the San Antonio Spurs have issued a statement since the suspension was handed down by the league.
