Wide receiver’s news have been non-stop this offseason, the latest comes from San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel who informed the team that he wants out of the organization and his desire to be traded, according to Jeff Darlington from ESPN.
Breaking News: I just spoke to wide receiver Deebo Samuel — and he told me that he has asked the 49ers to trade him.
He did not want to discuss specific reasons behind his request, but he has indeed let the 49ers know his desire to leave the organization. More to come.

Since being drafted in the second round, Samuel signed a four-year rookie deal with the 49ers and is entering the last year of his deal so he’s elegible for an extension. Deebo’s request comes in a summer where several of the top receivers in the league negotiated new contracts or extensions.
At the beginning of the week, Adam Schefter from ESPN reported that Samuel and other extension-eligible receivers like AJ Brown and Terry McLaurin weren’t going to participate in their team’s voluntary offseason workout programs until new deals were negotiated.
Samuel’s situation seems to clear a little but it still requires the team to pull the trigger on a trade which is no guarantee.
The first-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro just finished the best season of his career with 1405 receiving yards and six touchdowns in a season with a lot of inconsistency in the Quarterback position for the 49ers. Samuel was also a running weapon for the team where he tallied 365 yards and eight touchdowns.
