Philadelphia 76ers President Daryl Morey is reportedly “unmoved” by recent comments that James Harden made while in China. According to KRON4 News Sports Director Jason Dumas, Philadelphia does not plan to trade Harden “unless it makes the Sixers a better team.”
The report from Dumas arrives hours after Shams Charania of The Athletic shared a video of Harden speaking to the press while in China. During his time with the press, he said that he will “never” work with Morey again.
“Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of. Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of,” he told the crowd.
Harden reportedly made these remarks against the advisement of his agent. Two months ago, the 2017-2018 NBA MVP reportedly opted into the final year of his deal with the 76ers under the belief that he would be traded to another team. With less than two months left until the start of the preseason, there is no indication that Harden will be traded in the near future.
