Camila Cabello has reportedly cut ties with Epic Records and found a new home at Interscope Records. At the Universal Music Group subsidiary, the pop star joins Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez and several other chart-topping acts. In her wake, she leaves behind the likes of Future, Mariah Carey, Travis Scott and many others.
The details of Camila Cabello’s new deal are still unclear. With that said, she did express an interest in having more independence and control as she enters the next phase of her career.
“With the first couple of albums, I’d be like, ‘What do you think? What do you think?’ and now I don’t send my music to that many people anymore,” she told Variety in April.
“If I can’t stand behind [a song] and want to perform it, let’s not put it out, because it’s just going to turn into some weird thing where I never wanna fucking sing it again, and it’s all because I didn’t listen to myself.”
As she enters her new home, Camilla Cabello has a lot going on. She is currently on tour with Coldplay. In addition, she has replaced Kelly Clarkson on NBC’s The Voice. Not to be forgotten, she is still promoting her third studio album, Familia.
