Utah Utes quarterback Cameron Rising has announced that he will return to the program for the 2023 college football season. His final game this season was cut short by an injury in the 2022-23 Rose Bowl Game. Injuries have been a common trend for him in his college football career. Rising has spent three seasons with the Utah Utes program where he has been the primary starting quarterback for two seasons now. With this return, the Utes will be a favorite to win the PAC-12 Championship once again in 2023. In his Twitter post announcing his return he included the caption “Let’s run it back”.

This past season with the Utah Utes, Cameron Rising completed 249 passes for 3,034 yards, 26 touchdowns, and eight interceptions on 385 attempts. He also rushed the ball 77 times for 465 yards and six touchdowns. Rising saw a jump in production from his first year as a starter, but injuries did hold him back some this season. With a fully healthy season, Rising could be one of the better quarterbacks in the PAC-12 next season. After the 2023 college football season, he could return for another year or decide to head to the 2024 NFL Draft. That could depend largely on the kind of season that he has in the 2023 college football season.
