Sportscaster Brian Custer has announced that he will make the leap from FOX Sports to ESPN in the coming weeks. Custer has covered college football, college basketball and boxing with FOX Sports since 2014. In his new role, Custer will co-host editions of SportsCenter and work as a play-by-play commentator covering college football and basketball.
“I’m beyond thrilled to be joining all the dedicated sports professionals at the World Wide Leader,” Custer said about the new opportunity.
“It’s always been a professional goal to anchor an iconic show like Sportscenter and call games for ESPN. I can’t wait for this journey to begin.”
Beyond his role at FOX Sports, he worked as an announcer for Showtime Sports where he covers boxing. According to ESPN, he will maintain that role despite working with a new network. In fact, he will cover the Mayweather-Paul boxing exhibition this Sunday.
Custer will join SportsCenter in July. A few weeks later, he will begin covering college football and basketball.
