Baltimore native Brent Faiyaz is one of the biggest stars in R&B at the moment. Earlier this summer, the R&B star shared his latest body of work, Wasteland, with contributions from Tyler, The Creator, Drake, Alicia Keys and several others. After a week in the world of streaming, Wasteland landed at number two on the Billboard charts and produced his best commercial opening week yet. While much of the world is still celebrating his ascent to R&B’s highest heights, Brent Faiyaz is already thinking about his next body of work. During a recent interview with Jordan Rose of Complex, the chart-topping artist revealed the title of his next body of work.
“I still have a project I want to put out called Make It Out Alive,” Brent Faiyaz told Rose.
“That’s still in the works—it’s just not this one, because I love the title Wasteland and I love what it represents.”
Brent Faiyaz has been developing his latest project for some time now, but did not release it alongside Wasteland because he wasn’t in the proper “headspace” to create enough songs that fit the project’s focus.
“I have an idea in my head of what I want Make It Out Alive to be, but all of the songs that I have been making up until this point didn’t fit that title. I wasn’t in the headspace to put that body of work out,” he continued.
Details regarding the upcoming project remain few and far between. Hopefully, fans will have the project sooner rather than later.
