In 2009 when Beyonce toured in Australia she met Chelsea James, a young girl suffering from leukaemia , and sang “Halo” to her in front of thousands of people. The video footage of Beyonce singing “Chelsea, I can see your halo, I pray you won’t fade away” went viral and caught world wide attention.
Four years later the superstar and the now 15-year-old girl meet again – this time backstage.
“I was so excited to meet Beyonce again,” Chelsea said. “Last time Beyonce sang to me on stage. This time I actually got to meet her backstage and talk to her and laugh with her, which was so cool. I’ll never forget this.”
Chelsea’s mother added: “This was such an emotional reunion between Chelsea and Beyonce.”
Beyonce dedicated her performance of “Survivor” to Chelsea and wrote later: “My beautiful angel! You have no idea how happy you made me seeing you. I will see you the next time I’m in Australia.”
